I'm really glad ww is working for you - 25lb is a brilliant weight loss! :)

However, as you say, you have to find what works for you, so I'm going to add a contrary pov: when I was on WW, I was eating far more than I've ever eaten in my life (they're big on ensuring that you "eat your points"). I ate healthily within my points but still put on 1lb the first week...and 3 the second - despite going to the gym 4x a week! It was awful. :(

The only thing that works for me is a lowish carb diet based round veg and lean fish/meat...which I guess would be like a Type 2 diabetic diet. OP - good luck with whatever you decide. I've lost 16lb since new year; I'm Type 1 diabetic though, which increases difficulty with weight loss even more than PCOS on its own...so I'm happy with that loss.

I'd also like to point out though, that the two aren't mutually exclusive. I do eat carbs in moderation, but I can also choose how much and what kind of carbs. Doesn't have to be just one or the other.

And ouchie... I'm not fully diabetic, but my mom was, and many of my aunts and uncles. I know how hard that can make it to lose weight. I actually veered the opposite direction... My blood sugar tends to be *too* low.

Oh, no, I agree. What I mean is that - for me - WW was just far, FAR too many calories. My metabolism works at a snail's pace (which is common for ppl with PCOS, iirc).

Something else I just thought of... I also have the mixed blessing of a surgically absent gallbladder. Thus, I can't digest most fat. It might very well be that WW would affect me the same way, but that I'm simply unable to absorb all of the calories because of that.

Who knows? To each their own. Awesome though that you persisted and found something that did work for you :)

Hmm... Odd thought after I'd already replied: The problem may have been you were exercising too much. If any of it was resistance work, you'd have been building muscle and putting on weight while actually slimming down and toning up. I actually had the same thing happen a few years ago while trying to lose weight.

Heh, sadly, not. My body simply does not need the amount of calories that WW says it does.
